VOCAL STRING QUARTET
Founded in 1995, the Vocal String Quartet (QCV) gives a particular look to everything it performs. Vocal and instrumental arrangements are performed by the group formed by singers, multi-instrumentalists and composers. From October 2000, the group started a project in Campinas to promote samba, promoting samba circles in cultural centers, theaters, bars and popular spaces such as Centro Cultural Evolução, with Revivendo o Samba, and Mercado Municipal de Campinas. (SP) with Samba do Mercadão. In 2010, the QCV presented itself in Geneva at the invitation of the United Nations, being received by the ambassador of the permanent mission of Brazil to the UN. Today the group heads Samba da Vila (Campinas), biweekly meetings in Vila Industrial, one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. In 2015, the quartet released its first album, entitled Pra canto a batucada, which features vocal and instrumental arrangements in a reinterpretation of its own and with extensive research on the samba repertoire, a work that was nominated for the 26th Brazilian Music Award (2015). He is currently preparing his new album, to be released in the 1st half of 2022.
